The chief of Sempe Nii Adote Otinor II and his council of elders in the Sempe traditional area have granted MP for Ablekuma-West constituency Ursula Owusu-Ekuful the permission to kick-start her campaign for the December general elections.

The council also gave the Communications Minister their blessings and wished her victory in the polls.

Speaking to the media after the courtesy call, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful disclosed that her team would engage in retail campaigning – moving door to door – to engage with the constituents.

Ursulas campaign team was launched last Monday, August 24.

She said “before we can start doing our campaign here, we need to seek permission and the blessing of the stool elders in this constituency and that is why we’ve come here today. To inform them that we would be grateful if they would grant us permission to conduct our campaign among their people. And so if they hear us gong around, it is the NPP  conducting its campaign in the Ablekuma West constituency.”

“We’ve also come here to seek their prayers and support and their blessing on the work of our hands so that we would be successful and victorious in this election. And thankfully they have grated us their blessing, they have prayed for us and they have wished us victory in this year’s election.”

She went on “so our visit here has been very successful, it is not everyone you go to who receives you with such open arms. But we’ve seen that all the Chiefs from all the areas, all the various communities in this constituency are present as witnesses to the fact that Sempe has grated us his blessing to conduct our campaign.”

“All of them we’ve had engagements with, so they have also pledged that they will talk to their subjects to also lend their support to us. We are going into every corner to conduct our retail campaign which is one on one. So, our teams are gearing up to enter every home and every household,” she added.
