Government’s spokesperson on governance and legal affairs Herbert Krapa has expressed confidence that the NPP would make some significant gains from the Oti region at the December 7 polls.

According to Mr. Krapa, the creation of the Oti region by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is bringing a lot of development to the area and could contribute to the party’s gains.

He noted that since the creation of the region, government has brought several developmental projects including the expansion and reconstruction of roads, the building of school infrastructure, office structures amongst others that would positively affect the local economy in the region.

Mr. Krapa made the statement on Sunday, November 8 when he presented the leadership of the party with Fifty Apsonic motorbikes to support campaign activities in Oti.

He said, “Oti is a new region and naturally, it has its own peculiar needs that it would require to be able to grow. It is also a promising region for the New Patriotic Party; we know that if we continue with the hard work that we are doing and continue to put in all the efforts that we are putting in and even more, we know that we would be able to secure as many constituencies as we should in this region.”

“We are confident that the work that President Akufo-Addo has done in the course of four years, we are confident that the Ghanaian people would recognize and appreciate it and return him to office for a second term to continue with everything he’s doing; all the social interventions, all the infrastructure, all the economic impact and growth that’s taking placing as a result of the sterling leadership of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,” he added.

Mr. Krapa, who is touring all Eight constituencies in the region is optimistic that not only would the President get appreciable votes from the people of Oti but also, the party would be able to annex to themselves some four more Parliamentary seats from the NDC.

“I’ve told the leadership of the party [in Oti] that a minimum of five constituencies, we’re expecting that they should be able to deliver for the New Patriotic Party,” he indicated.

If that happens, the NPP would have five parliamentary seats, if they are able to retain the Krachi East seat which is already being occupied by the party.
