The National Democratic Congress (NDC)  Member of Parliament for the Akan Constituency in the Oti Region, Abdul Aziz Muniru, has called on Ghanaians to vote for the  NDC in the upcoming general elections

Mr. Muniru was speaking to Joy News recently when he donated four generator sets to four communities in his constituency.

The NDC MP minced no words in condemning the government for monumental “nonperformance” in the midst of massive resources at its disposal.

“As for this election I can say that NDC has already won because looking at the level of corruption that is going on in Akufo-Addo’s government, it is unprecedented in the history of Ghana” he asserted.

Justifying his claim of non-performance against the NPP, Mr Muniru said “If you look at the level of borrowing under the NPP government and  Nana Akufo-Addo’s presidency, it has never happened before.

“GHc160billion has been borrowed and there is nothing to show for these monies unlike Mahama, who borrowed GHc40 billion and has a lot to show,” he said.

The MP said he was further disappointed in the government for failing to construct even a kilometre of road in his Constituency in the government’s so-called Year of Roads. He bemoaned the bad situation saying, “2020 has been declared the Year of Roads but I can tell you, not even a kilometre of  road has been constructed and finished under Akufo-Addo’s government. When you ask them all they tell you is Free SHS; when you ask them  they will tell you it is because of the Covid-19 pandemic so they have not been able to work well.”

The MP said he believed the government could have done better, but for now it is a “total failure”.

He described President Akufo-Addo as a walking contradiction between rhetoric and reality.
