The 2020 edition of the Tadifest, organized by Takoradi-based Empire FM has been suspended.

This was contained in a release from management of Empire FM signed by head of Business  Enoch Asare. The station says the decision is due to the rising number of Coronavirus cases in the country.

“Management of Takoradi based Empire 102.7fm regrets to announce to the general public especially masquerade groups in the Western Region, the suspension of this year’s TADIFEST.

“While Empire Fm concedes that Sekondi-Takoradi and its environs has for the past years become the destination for Christmas for many Ghanaians, home and abroad it also believes the health and safety of residents must be protected.

“The station therefore is advising all and sundry especially the masquerade groups to continue to observe the stated COVID-19 protocols strictly. This too shall surely pass to pave the way for subsequent TadiFest to be held without any fear of contraction of any disease.”
