As Ghanaians are expected to pay taxes for the ‘free water and electricity they enjoyed during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, some people have labelled the government deceitful.

Ghanaian actor and a staunch supporter of the ruling NPP government, Prince David Osei, in a post on Instagram has expressed his displeasure about the current taxes Ghanaians are expected to pay for the free water and electricity they enjoyed.

He wrote; “please, Mr President I believe in you! There can be another way of recuperating the money lost other than citizens paying for the free usage of water and electricity you affectionately offered to them. Thank You @nakufoaddo ❤”

According to the actor, some of them campaigned vigorously on the back of that gesture by the government to retain power, hence this current move by the government has made them look mindless.

He went on to his Facebook wall to express his displeasure saying “If we campaigned for #4more$nana on the premise of free water and electricity during the pandemic and we turn around to tax the people, then it makes some of us who championed the course lool mindless!!

He, therefore, appealed to President Akufo-Addo to find another way of recuperating the money lost rather than taxing citizens for the free water and electricity he affectionately offered them.
