Surfline Communications Limited, Ghana’s leading 4G LTE internet service provider, has rewarded six (6) girls who are studying or working in ICT related field with MiFi devices and up to 12 months’ Unlimited data supply.

This is to mark this year’s celebration of International Girls in ICT Day.

To celebrate the day, Surfline followers on social media were asked to nominate their favourite girls studying or working in any ICT related field. The top three nominees with the highest votes from the various Surfline social media platforms were selected as winners.

The winners for this year’s event are Juanita Lodonu (Instagram) and Lawerteh Eva Adinorkie (Twitter). They get a full year’s supply of Unlimited Data Package from Surfline plus a Mifi each.

Hafsa Iddris (Instagram) and Laryea Dorcas Adjeley (Twitter) came second and will be award with a Mifi and 6 months’ supply of Unlimited Data. Josephine Gyabaah (Instagram) and Kwofie Antoinette Araba (Twitter) will also enjoy 3 months of Unlimited Data plus a Mifi each.

Speaking at the event, the Head of Commercial Business at Surfline, Mr. David Afugani, stated that this initiative forms part of Surfline’s effort to support and encourage the study of ICT and its related fields, especially among girls. “At Surfline, we are committed to encouraging young women to venture into the study of science, technology, engineering and maths.

“Our fast and reliable network will empower you to connect to the rest of the world in finding a solution to the most challenging issues,” he added.

He also advised the winners to make good use of this gesture from Surfline and to also serve as ambassadors in encouraging other girls to venture into the field of ICT.
