Our fate is written in the stars and the stars are scattered on the palm of our hand. Some, see them sparkle and twinkle, others wait for someone to see the shine for them. Thais Gonsalez always belonged to the former category. From an unassuming child to a model to a celebrity mixologist to a bar manager to finally coming into her own as a hip hop artist, Thais shares with us her journey to the top.

Tracing her childhood she says, “I was born in New York where my Puerto Rican parents adopted me at a very young age. Looking back I can say that my childhood was an overall interesting experience even though, my parents were unable to see or support my passion for music. For me, music was the essence of life. I was able to see myself better and clearer whenever I listened to my favorite tracks.”

As Thais Gonzalez grew, she understood that to pursue her passion for music, she’ll have to rely on herself. “I started modeling at a fairly young age to support myself while I was still finding my feet in music. I have been on several magazine covers especially from 2016-19.” It was while she was working as a cover model for Succoso magazine that Thais released her first single in 2018. Titled ‘Took His Money’ was produced by rapper Parrish Smith of EPMD, the song went on to become one of the most heard singles of the year.

This was followed by her version of Felix Felgado’s “On My New York Sh*t’ which was received well within the hip hop community and also by her fans. She says, “The experience was everything I wanted it to be.” Here’s wishing Thais Gonzalez more success.
