Abeiku Jackson has inked his name in history by becoming the 1st Ghanaian ever to win a race in swimming at the Olympics.

The Ghanaian swimmer finished 1st in the Mens Swimming 100m Butterfly Heat 2 with a time of 53.39 seconds.

Abeiku Jackson overcame stiff competition from India’s Sajan Prakash (53.45s) , Korea’s Moon SeungWoo (53.59s) and 5 other athletes.

Unfortunately this is the end of the road for Jackson as his time of 53.39 seconds was not enough to get him
into the top 16 that qualified for the semi-finals.

The Best 16 athletes out of the 8 heats progressed to the Semifinals of the competition.
Abeiku Jackson joins Light heavyweight boxer, Shakul Samed and Anane Kwadwo, a judoka who have already been eliminated from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
