Kumasi Asante Kotoko centre-back Ismail Abdul Ganiyu has extended his stay with the club until 2023.  The defender penned a new two year contract extension with the Porcupine Warriors.

The club made this announcement on their official twitter handle.

Ganiyu’s contract extension comes on the backdrop of his previous impressive performance in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.

The 25-year old was part of Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac’s provisional 32-man squad for Zimbabwe’s World Cup double header but missed out with the likes of Mubarak Wakaso, Emmanuel Gyasi, Tariqe Fosu and Joseph Alfred Duncan after they were excused for various reasons for the Zimbabwe encounter.

Ganiyu emerged as the 4th top scorer for the club in the ended season with four goals to his credit in 33 games.
