EIB Network’s Ultimate FM and Abusua FM have together presented a cheque of GHC 50,832.06 to Baby Nkunim at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

Baby Nkunim, who was born with neither a nose nor a nasal passage, a rare condition which medics term as Congenital Arhinia received an amount of GHC 50,832.06 from listeners and participants of the Vim Walk with CEO of EIB Network Bola Ray.

Baby Nkunim is currently at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s Mother and Baby Unit after she was abandoned by her mother.

Donating a cheque of GHC 50,832.06 to baby Nkunim’s caretakers, Business Manager for Ultimate FM and Abusua FM Picconius Ofoe Siameh commended Ghanaians and Kumasi residents in particular for supporting the fundraising project.

Head of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s Mother and Baby Unit Dr Gyikua Plange Rhule who received the cheque on behalf of the facility said, she least expected EIB’s VIM WALK with Bola Ray to raise GHC 50,000 to support the upkeep of the abandoned baby girl.

According to the management of the two stations, the donation was done on behalf of its listeners and other participants of the ‘VIM WALK with Bola Ray’ to assist the One-year-old Nkunim to foot her bills.

The EIB Network, began a public campaign through a health walk ‘Vim Walk with Bola Ray’ on October 2, 2021, to raise funds to support the abandoned baby.

The campaign was led by the CEO, Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi to raise funds to support baby Nkunim’s upkeep and surgery

The social event which formed part of EIB’s corporate social responsibility was massively patronised by thousands of Ultimate 106.9 and Abusua 96.5Fm listeners and corporate Kumasi.

Some renowned people who also showed up for the walk included Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso Boakye, Nhyiaso MP Stephen Amoah and several popular celebrities in Kumasi among several others.
