Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South Constituency Kweku Rickett Hegan has called for the legalization of the commercial tricycle business popularly known as ‘Pragya’ in the Country.

According to him, the business has saved over 2000 youth in the ghettos from criminal activities in the Cape Coast Metropolis.

The tricycle business has enabled youth who could not complete their education to be able to earn a livin. Some also use it as a source of income to further their education.

The lawmaker however urged the tricycle users to be law-abiding and stick to the road rules and regulations when using the tricycle on the road.

He said, “most tricycle drivers are residents of the ghetto and are very ignorant about road signs so it is advisable for the government to educate them as well as legalize the business to reduce unemployment in the country”.

The tricycle drivers showed their appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the workshop on road signs.
