Ghana’s Female Goalball team will be hoping to qualify to the Semi-final of the ongoing Goalball African Championship when they face Egypt today.
Today’s encounter will be the second meeting between the two countries after Ghana lost by 12:7 in the first game on Tuesday. Ghana has so far played four games in the tournament, winning two and loosing two while Egypt on the other hand has lost only one game in the competition.

The Ghana team whose sights are set on booking their first qualification to the Goalball World Cup in China next year, will have to beat Egypt to keep their target on course.

Ahead of today’s encounter, Catherine Nonome tells Starr FM Sports, they won’t allow themselves to be beaten twice by the Egyptians.
“We played against Egypt in the first game but we lost and we have learnt alot from that game. They are not that good but just some few mistakes from us led to our defeat, we are hopeful of beating Egypt today to qualify to the Semis” she told Starr Sport.

Before the Egypt encounter, the team will first play against Defending Champions Algeria who have had an unblemish run in the competition so far.

Meanwhile the Ghana Men’s Blind team will also face Egypt in the final playoff tomorrow to secure qualification to the semi-finals.
