Two reporters of one of Africa’s most reliable media conglomerate Excellence in Broadcasting (EIB) Network have received prestigious awards at the maiden MTN Media awards for their exceptional reportage in the Communication industry.
The two are – Francisca Sedina Dickson Arhin and Rosemond Akuokor Adjetey both Businness reporters with EIB Network’s English Cluster (GHOne TV and Starr FM).
Francisca Sedina Dickson Arhin emerged the Overall Best Reporter for Television category at the maiden MTN Ghana Bright Media Awards, which formed part of the telecommunications giant’s 25th Anniversary celebration.
Francisca was crowned best based on her story that chronicled how MTN has impacted every aspect of the lives of Ghanaians in all areas.
Her colleague, Akuokor Adjetey picked the 1st runner up position for the radio category.
Akuokor Adjetey won the 1st runner up for the radio category with a piece that also chronicled how mobile telecommunication giant MTN used it Corporate Social Responsibility to impact lives.
There were three other top winners for print, radio and online categories at the event.
Francisca, a mulriple award winner in her last 5 years in the media has shown greater zeal with her countless awards won and other nominations.
She told journalists after the awards, that, she is humbled to be crowned top winner for the TV category.
She said she was also glad of her consistency in her professional life and telling industry stories with her pen which have paid off.
She lauded MTN for standing out as the only teleco operator in the country which puts its money where its mouth is as long as media development is concerned.
She expressed the hope that the teleco market leaders will continue to do more to promote excellent journalism in Ghana.
Francisca was deservedly rewarded with packages worth GHS7, 000 while her colleague Ms. Adjetey also took home MTN packages worth GHS5,000.
The two expressed their gratitude to the Chief Executive Officer of the EIB Network Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi (Bola Ray) and their General Manager Nana Aba Anamoah, their managing news editor Alice Aryeetey and the entire newsroom colleagues.
