Interim Coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has offered his perspective to Ghana’s display at the 2021 TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations.

Ghana recorded its worst-ever AFCON campaign in the country’s history at the tournament which took place in Cameroon as the Black Stars finished bottom of their group failing to win a single group game.

The team’s disastrous showing led to the sacking of Serbian tactician Milovan Rajevac who supervised the team during the tournament.

Otto Addo, who took over the team in an interim capacity following the departure of “Milo”, offering his thoughts on Ghana’s campaign in Cameroon stated he felt the team was unlucky during the tournament.

“The AFCON was a collection of bad circumstances, one came after the other and they were very unlucky” – Otto Addo told Empire FM.

“The performance was poor but a lot of bad luck also worked against them”- he added.

Ghana exited AFCON 2021 at the group stages following defeat to Comoros in their final group game.
