Technical director for Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions, Ibrahim Tanko has disclosed that his club’s first season in the Ghana premier league has been been a roller coaster ride thus far.

Accra Lions advanced to the Ghana premier league after winning their zone in the division 1 league last season.

The debutants had a bad start to life in the Ghana premier league after losing 5 games, winning 3, and drawing two in their first 10 games.

Ibrahim Tanko admits it has been tough in their debut campaign in the Ghanaian top-flight League but is however impressed with his side’s performance so far.

“Playing in the Ghana premier league has been tough for us because it’s a new terrain for the boys, but with time the players are getting used to the style of play in the league,” he told Starr Sports’ Nana Ama Agyemang.

The former Borrusia Dortmund striker, also revealed that, bad officiating against his side has been a major challenge they have had to deal with.

“The FA has to pay attention to officiating in the league because it is destroying our football. The intimidation is too much when you are not playing at your grounds because you know the referees decisions will not be in your favor“ he bemoaned.

Accra Lions are currently 10th on the league log after 25 games with 9 wins, 6 draws and 10 defeats.
