A 13-member town management committee has been inaugurated by the Paramount Chief of the Ave-Dakpa Traditional Area, Torgbui Nyamekor Glakpe V, to assist in the management and smooth administration of the Akatsi North District capital.

The committee which is being chaired by Mr. Emmanuel Perry Nyamekor will perform administrative functions delegated to it by the traditional authorities and  also spearhead the development of the town in areas such as education, youth empowerment and development, sanitation and the enforcement of bye-laws.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony held at Ave-Dakpa Saturday, June 25, 2022 the Paramount Chief of the Ave-Dakpa Traditional Area, Torgbui Nyamekor Glakpe V said the formation of the committee is necessary in addressing the developmental needs of the area.

He advised the committee to be selfless and upright in their dealings.

“My advice for the Committee is for them to be selfless and upright in order to rally every single individual for the development of Dakpa,” said Torgbui Nyamekor.

Chairman of the Committee, Emmanuel Perry Nyamekor said the team will work with all stakeholders to bring the Ave-Dakpa township and its suburbs to the status that best fits.

“We would work closely with the traditional authorities and every other stakeholder to ensure that Dakpa is brought back to its status as the District capital of Akatsi North.”

“We would be a driving force that will push development in all areas including education, resolving the worrying rise in cases of teenage pregnancy, sanitation and water and most especially, youth involvement in our development,” the Chairman added.

The District Chief Executive for Akatsi North, Peter Simon Ofosu believes the establishment of the Committee would broaden engagement and further aid the decentralisation of the development of the District capital.

“It is a good course and we can only urge the committee members to offer the necessary support to the community to aid development,” the DCE added.

The Committee also include Dr. Richard Awudza (Vice Chairman), Mr. Anthony Vormawor Awunyo (Secretary), Mr. Dzidula Awudzi (Deputy Secretary) and nine (9) other members.
