EIB Save a Soul Foundation through its initiative has supported the successful Torticollis surgery of Five-year-old Joshua Kakraba.

The successful surgery took place in July and doctors are monitoring him for a while before he is discharged.

Joshua was able to undergo this surgery kind of courtesy donations from the general public through EIB’s Save Soul Foundation after a report by GHOne news Godwin Asediba in December 2021. An amount of Eighty-Three Thousand Three Hundred and Seventy-Seven Ghana cedis Forty Three Pesewas (Ghc 83,377.43) was donated for his surgery and also to sponsor his Education and aftercare.

Five-year-old Joshua Kakraba was diagnosed with Torticollis, a mystery muscle-wasting disease, which left his neck almost falling off when he was three years old.

Joshua was born a healthy baby with his mother but within three years of his birth, he developed the condition, leading to the disappearance of Dad till date.

His mother consulted doctors in the hope of getting him treated but due to financial constraints, they could not proceed with treatment.

After the report on the plight of the 5-year-old was aired on GHOne TV a month ago, many viewers were touched by his plight.

Viewers of GHOne TV showed him, love, by donating to pay for the surgery. An amount of GH¢ 23,377.43 was realized, to proceed with Joshua’s story with an additional amount of Ghc60.000 to sponsor his education when he gets back on his feet after surgery
