Beyoncé’s Shatta Wale feature “Already,” which made multiple entries in Billboard Charts, has just been certified gold by the RIAA.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the hit song released as a track in 2019’s The Lion King: The Gift album by Beyonce through Parkwood Entertainment, LLC, reached the huge feat on Monday (August 08) after garnering over 500,000 unit sales in US.
“Already” also features American trio Major Lazer. It was originally released as a track in 2019’s The Lion King: The Gift, a soundtrack album curated by Beyoncé for the 2019 photorealistic animated remake of The Lion King. It was then featured in Black Is King, a visual counterpart and television film for the album, released on Disney Plus on July 31, 2020.
Shatta Wale joins Ghanaian musician, Fuse ODG who have received gold certification by RIAA. In 2020, the Azonto hitmaker received RIAA Gold certification for his collaboration with Major Lazer and Nyla (Brick & Lace) on Light It Up Remix. The song (Light It Up Remix) went Gold on March 1, 2017. It moved Platinum on March 1, 2017, and has since gone 2x Multi-Platinum as of September 15, 2021.
Meanwhile, early this summer, KiDi also earned his first ever platinum certification for his single “Touch It”. According to Africa Facts Zone, the song has received its platinum certification from Indian based record label, 9122 Record, for amassing 120,000 sales and 200M+ combined streams in India.
