The Education Ministry has dismissed reports claiming there is food shortage in some Senior High schools, particularly in the Volta region.

Reports were rife of a possible closure of schools following the unavailability of food items to cater for the student population.

But the ministry in a statement said:”checks reveal adequate supplies of food items have been made to the schools in question.”

The statement further noted that the Ministry however takes cognizance of recent disruptions within the food supply chain, but assured parents and guardians that they have been addressed.

The release stressed that “all Senior High schools in the country have received adequate supply of food items” entreating the public to disregard the media reports.
