Gradually the Sekondi Takoradi metropolis in the Western Region is becoming a preferred destination for revelers in December.

This can be attributed to the touted masquerade carnival, Tadifest.

Having been put on hold for some two years owing to the covid pandemic, organizers of TadiFest , EIB Network’s, Empire FM and Radio 360 have put together some exciting events  that is resonating across the length and breadth of the nation.

This year’s Tadifest was kickstarted with a tour at one of the most iconic museums in the sub region, in Nkontompo in Sekondi; Bisa Abrewa Musuem.

In collaboration with Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, Effia Kwesimintsim municipal assembly and Waste 360 Management Services, a massive cleanup exercise will be undertaken on Saturday December 17 , 2022  in line with the National Sanitation day.

Next on line to give revelers a proper feel of Western region through music, a night to celebrate Western Music will take place at the Anaji Choice Mart on December 23, 2022.

One of the torch bearers of authentic Western Music, Kofi Bentil will be in action.

Also in collaboration with the National Sports Authority and as part of this month’s National Fitness Day, the biggest health walk dubbed Oilcity Health Walk will be held on Saturday December 24th.

The day of Christmas, December 25, 2022 will see a rare beach Rave at Vienna Beach dubbed the Beer and Chicken Rave.

On 26th December there will be a food bazaar on the Old John Sarbah Road, where the public will be feted with a variety of Ghanaian food delicacies.

Climaxing the whole event is the Tadifest Masquerade Carnival. This will see some 30 masquerade groups display their in vogue costumes and rhythmic dance moves to melodious brass band renditions of Ghanaian and international music hits.

The event has gathered so much momentum with President Akufo-Addo endorsing it during his recent visit to Takoradi to commission some works.at the ports

Most hotels and lodging facilities are fully booked.

The event has been endorsed by the Beyond the Return secretariat under the Ghana Tourism Authority as well as some international endorsements from the Trinidad and Tobago consulate.

The event is supported by Ghana Gas, GNPC, GPHA, GOIL, Donewell Insurance, Bethel Logistics, GGBL, Frosty Jack Cider, Ashfoam, JonMoore International, Crumpton Oaks, Niche Cocoa Drink. It is also supported by Ghana Tourism Authority and the Western Regional Coordinating Council.
