The newly-elected national executives of the largest opposition NDC have taken the oath of office as the party buckles up for the comeback agenda ahead of the 2024 general elections.
The new executives were sworn in to climax the end of the party’s 10th National Congress on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah will now take control of the largest opposition NDC as National Chairman ahead of the 2024 general election with Fifi Fiavi Kwetey as General Secretary.
For the National Organizer race, Joseph Yamin unseated Akamba whiles Sammy Gyamfi retained his position as National Communications Officer.
Also, Dr. Louisa Hannah Bissiw will lead the women’s wing of the party, while George Opare Addo will continue to serve as the National Youth Organizer of the party.
However, the move appears to be in defiance of a court order that sought to block the party from swearing-in its Youth Organiser-elect, George Opare Addo.
The High Court in Amasaman on Friday granted an application for an interim injunction against the swearing-in of George Opare Addo as the National Youth Organizer elect of the NDC.
The lawsuit was filed by Brogya Genfi, a contestant in the just-ended National Youth Organizer election of the NDC, the TEIN President of UPSA, Ibrahim Rashid and Paul Amaldago, TEIN President for University of Ghana, Legon.
