The Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye has accused some coordinators of aspiring flag bearers of the party of indiscipline and unnecessary gossiping.

According to him, it is unacceptable for certain presidential aspirant spokesperson who vigorously campaigned against him during their regional election go around creating problems in the party.

“There has been indiscipline and unnecessary gossiping by coordinators or some presidential aspirants.

“These coordinators have made it a point to destroy some delegates or party officers in order to make money from them,” Mr. Abronye disclosed in a letter dated August 20, 2023.

He continued: “It is unnecessary and undisciplined for a Regional officer to be coordinator for more than 5 presidential aspirants, promising them the number of votes they will receive from him.”

He has also indicated that after extensive consultation has decided not to be part of the party’s upcoming special delegates congress.

The Bono regional chairman catalogued a number of reasons he wants to abstained from the congress including alleged extortion of money.

“I’ve never solicited any money from any of the aspirants just to campaign for him or her.

“All constituency Chairmen and their Executives, including polling station executive in their Bono Region, would testify that I have never engaged them to campaign for a particular candidate.

“Therefore, the said presidential aspirant spokesperson and his colleagues’ campaign coordinators who want to hijack the party, including other twin regions are lying.”
