The High Court in Accra has fixed December 4, 2023, to deliver judgment in the case of En Huang aka Aisha Huang, the alleged galamsey kingpin.
The Criminal Division of the court presided over by Justice Mrs Lydia Osei-Marfo settled on the date after all the parties have duly filed their written addresses.
In Court on Thursday, Justice Osei-Marfo said “what is left is for me to give you a date for judgement.
Consequently, the court fixed December 4, 2023, to deliver its judgement.
Aisha Huang, has pleaded not guilty to three charges including undertaking illegal mining operations without a license, facilitating the participation of persons in illegal mining.
She, however, pleaded guilty unlawfully re-entering Ghana after her deportation and has been convicted.
EIB Network’s Legal Affairs Correspondent Murtala Inusah, reports that the state paraded 11 witnesses to prove their case while Aisha Huang also testified without calling a witness.
