A group of Pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) lecturers known as ‘Academic Patriots’ at the Kumasi Technical University’s main campus in the Ashanti region capital, Kumasi have renewed their political backing commitment to political activities of the Party before, during and after the 2024 general elections.

The group led by Dr. Solomon Kwateng Forkuo at a meeting with the newly appointed Ashanti regional director of communication Paul Yandoh, Former Communication director Akwasi Kyei and Victor Opoku, pledged to commit to any academic support the party may require from the academia front.

“We are all true committed New Patriotic Party members, who are actively supporting they’s communication activities both on radio and TV even though we are not officially members of the party’s communications team. Our commitment to the NPP is known to everybody in the region. Therefore, there is no need to explain to you what we can do for the party’’.

He assured the members of the academic patriots are available to lead the party’s research work, training of communicators to ensure smooth marketing of the party’s Presidential and Parliamentary candidates among other services the party may require from the academic group.

The group also promised to bring onboard other lecturers who believe in the party’s ideology to ensure they conduct an effective campaign for the party on campus to champion the victory of the NPP in the 2024 crucial elections.

The group membership includes Dr. Solomon Kwateng Fokuo, Dr. Smart Sarpong, Dr. Edmond Oppong Peprah, Ishaq Kyei Brobbey among others.

The Ashanti regional communications officer Paul Yandoh is confident the effective collaboration between the party and the academia will cement the party front by equipping the grassroots front with the needed skills to encourage effective communication execution of elections winning strategies.

He said the party’s current wish is to elect and present a credible flag bearer for elections in 2024.

“You all know our prime target is to “break the 8” which the electoral history is against it can’t be easy walk over against our major political opponent the NDC so therefore, we must put our house in other and empower every member of the party to deliver their best for the party to retain power’’.

He assured the group the party’s commitment to resource them enable them execute their task effectively across their operational areas.
