A regular panelist on the United Television (UTV) Showbiz, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod has disclosed that the Deputy National Communication Director for New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ernest Owusu Bempeh has called into the show to threaten him before.

This follows some persons believed to the members of the NPP invaded the studios of UTV during a live show on Saturday October 7, 2023

Speaking on Morning Starr with Francis Abban Monday, October 9, 2023 Bullgod explained that the development was not new to the panelist and the TV station.

“We will not be intimidated in any way, especially those of us on the panel because this is an attack on our freedom to express ourselves. Everybody that sits on that show is in danger and we will not allow this to be swept under the carpet. We won’t allow that.

“These things have been going on, there are few times that we have heard them and they have been calling management. I don’t know if early this year or late last year somebody like Owusu Bempah, the guy who was at Ghana Gas, has called into the show to actually threaten me,” Bullgod stated.

According to him, the development was not new to the panelist since “this has been a buildup so what happened last Saturday is just an icing on the cake for them.”

However, the Ghana Police Service has disclosed that sixteen persons have been arrested for invading the UTV studios on Saturday evening.

“Following a complaint from the Despite Media Group and Ministry of Information that certain people had invaded the studios of U-TV this evening, the Police proceeded to the scene and arrested sixteen (16) persons in connection with the incident.

“They are currently at the Police Station assisting investigations,” Ghana Police Service added in a brief statement.
