Polls have been smooth and peaceful across the various constituencies in the Volta region as the ruling New Patriotic Party holds its parliamentary primaries in orphan constituencies across the country.

The exercise is currently underway in 13 out of the 18 constituencies in the Volta region.

Apart from the Hohoe constituency, which has an NPP Member of Parliament, elections were expected to be conducted in the remaining 17 constituencies in the Volta region.

But constituencies such as Akatsi North and Ketu North have their primaries put on hold.

There won’t be election in the Anlo and North Dayi constituencies as the two constituencies have candidates going unopposed.
