Asisat Oshoala and Victor Osimhen of Nigeria were named the CAF African Women’s Player of the Year and CAF African Player of the Year, respectively.

Napoli’s striker Osimhen won the award for the first time, after beating off competitions from Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi and Egyptian striker Mohammed Salah.

Barcelona’s Oshoala secured her record sixth win in her category, thanks to her impressive performances that helped her team win the Champions League title.

The honour solidifies Osimhen’s status as the top scorer for the Super Eagles, just weeks before the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire, where Nigeria is grouped with the host nation, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau.

Osimhen and Oshoala’s achievements are gaining momentum as Nigeria prepares for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament, showcasing their impressive performance.
