The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is expected to elect parliamentary candidates in areas with sitting Members of Parliament who will represent the party in the 2024 election.
The party currently has 137 Members of Parliament.
Some of the incumbent Members of Parliament going for a reelection are facing stiff contests in constituencies such, Bantama in the Ashanti region and Adansi Asokwa in the Central region among others.
The party has a total of 326 aspirants cleared to contest the election in 100 constituencies in 15 regions out of the 16 regions because the party has no seat in the Oti region.
Meanwhile, the party has already elected candidates in areas when the party has no sitting Members of Parliament.
