The member of parliament for Nhyieso Dr Stephen Amoah has taken it out hard at persons challenging his achievements describing them as individuals displaying “intellectual dishonesty, ego-trips and unconscious incompetence”.

Speaking to GHONE News at the Nhyieso Constituency where over 800 delegates of the New Patriotic Party are voting to elect their parliamentary candidate, Stika as he is affectionately called, recounted a gamut of projects done under his watch as a first term member of parliament.

“It will be difficult to find a first term member of parliament who has done the things I have done. Can you mention three people in parliament who are very eloquent, confident intelligent and speak well without mentioning me. The work I have done in parliament, in Accra and Nhyieso here is unprecedented,” he boasted.

“Can you tell me one MP who has provided for 2400 basic school students in their first term? A first timer has provided computers for all the secondary schools in the constituency. Nhyieso has an AstroTurf now and I have Kumasi FC. It’s impossible to compare anybody to me,”

Steven Amoah is in the NPP’s Parliamentary Primaries race with his predecessor; Municipal Chief Executive of Asokore MAMPONG Municipal Assembly Kennedy Cankam who is bent on reclaiming his lost seat.

Another candidate George Odoom is also in the race although watchers discount his impact in causing any major upset to the two top contenders.

The Member of Parliament who doubles as the deputy trades minister however insisted that it was unthinkable to have persons contest him considering achievements he describes as unprecedented.

“If it were any developed economy, I don’t think anyone would have contested me,” Dr Amoah contended.
