International Marketer, Bozoma Saint John says she has struggled with her identity in the past.

Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray, madam Bozoma stated that it came to a point where she no longer felt a sense of belonging to either America or Ghana.

“When I am in Ghana others will say, ‘Oh, ‘we don’t know you can speak Fanti,’ because I can speak the language.

“But when I am in America somebody will hear my name and ask ‘where are you from.’ So I feel very much like I don’t belong in either. So I made it my own to belong to both,” Bozoma narrated.

According to her, Americans used to make fun of her name but with all the struggles she is comfortable with both now.

“I used to struggle with my identity when I was younger, absolutely. Struggle with identity because I never felt complete in either. I always felt like an outsider in both worlds. I came with my parents to visit Ghana and people don’t speak English to me and treat me as if I didn’t belong. When I was in America people would make fun of my name and ask me to go back home.

“So I never felt like both but now I know I recognize that I’m super power. I can go in between the world and be very comfortable in both,” she added.
