The Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC) at an emergency meeting Chaired by Bantamahene Baffour Owusu Amankwatia IV, has ordered the New Patriotic Party (NPP) General secretary to produce the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Wontumi in the next seven days before the Traditional Council.

The council has also ordered popular Accra-based private legal practitioner lawyer cum Presenter Maurice Ampaw and management of Wontumi TV/Radio to appear before it, for making unsavory comments against the Chiefs.

The NPP national delegation to appear before the Kumasi traditional Council follows a summon the Palace sent to the General Secretary Justin Koduah Frimpong over an alleged disparaging comment Chairman Wontumi made against the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The unfortunate incident happened during the party’s parliamentary vetting in Kumasi.

The party’s national delegation that honored Manhyia Palace summon included General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua, National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye, and a Deputy Communications Director of the party, Ernest Owusu Bempah among the Ashanti regional executives.

Addressing the Kumasi Traditional Council, Justin Frimpong Kodua who led the high-powered delegation said Wontumi couldn’t appear before the council because he was indisposed.

He prayed the council to adjourn sitting for the next two weeks.

Unfortunately the Traditional council meeting chaired by Bantamahene shot the party’s request down and adjourned sitting to Monday 29th January 2024 for Wontumi to appear before the council even if he’s in a wheelchair.
