Renowned waakye vendor, Auntie Imoro Muniratu also known as Auntie Muni has been confirmed dead by the family.

On Wednesday, 3 January, Auntie Muni succumbed to a brief illness at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) in Accra.

Speaking on the Morning Starr with Francis Abban, Auntie Muni’s son, Muftaw Mumumi Muftwa who confirmed the incident indicated that the family is really sadden by the demise of their mother.

“Unfortunately, it is true, she was sick but for a very brief period. I think that we are grateful to have a mother like that, as a woman who have have lived her fullest in terms impact not only on the family, but the society in general. We want to remember her as someone who has helped in many ways.

“We are still in a very difficult state to talk about all these things but we want to remember her as somebody who has lived and impacted many,” Muftaw stated.

According to him, the family will be meeting at Cantonment mosque for prayers then they can decide when the burial will take place.

The social media platform X, formerly recognized as Twitter, is currently filled with grief as Ghanaians collectively mourn the loss of the celebrated waakye vendor Auntie Muni.
