Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem South, Hon. Frank Aidoo, extends his heartfelt appreciation to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for granting him the opportunity to contest in the parliamentary primary within the constituency.

Hon. Frank Aidoo emphasizes the importance of fostering unity in the party by advocating for a decent and respectful campaign.

He urges fellow candidates to prioritize unity before and after the primary election, aiming for a collective victory for the NPP and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the forthcoming December 7, 2024, Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the National Council, the national executives committee, the Regional Executives committee, the Regional Executive Committee and constituency executives. I am so excited to be part of this race for the upcoming election. I entreat my opponents to try to as much as possible let us all prosecute a very decent campaign that will go a very long way to promote the fortunes of our party rather than campaigns that will not help us. I believe the 2024 election is going to be a done deal. I feel that we’ve won not only by votes but things that we’ve been able to prosecute since 2017 I believe that when you come to Akuapem South we know that we are breaking the 8 hands down”MCE said this when reacting to NEC’s  decision clearing him to take part in the primary.

The NEC of the ruling NPP has officially cleared Hon. Frank Aidoo to contest in the Akuapem South Parliamentary primary, which was initially put on hold in January.

This decision follows petitions and recommendations from both constituency and regional executive committees, prompted by the withdrawal of Osei Bonsu Amoah, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Akuapem South Constituency.

Osei Bonsu Amoah’s withdrawal from the race, citing personal and national interests.

Earlier speculations regarding Amoah’s nomination with alleged intentions to disqualify Hon. Frank Aidoo who filed a nomination form with conditions.

The decision by the National Executive Committee of the NPP now means Frank Aidoo will join Eric Apeadu Yeboah, Kwame Ofori Gyawu, and Samuel Annor Mensah to contest the upcoming primary date yet to be announced.
