Ken Ofori-Atta (right) and President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has appointed former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta as the Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Envoy for International Finance and Private Sector Investments.

The Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta was relieved from his position, with Mohammed Amin Adam as new Minister for Finance.

This has been criticized by a section of Ghanaians and a call on the President to reconsider such a decision.

But speaking on Starr Midday News with Nurein Abass, the Professor Gatsi stated that he will not be surprised if President Akufo-Addo makes such an appointment.

According to him, the President heaped a lot of praise on the Minister of Finance and the other former Ministers which suggests that he cannot do without some of them.

However, in a letter from the Presidency and signed by the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare disclosed the new appointment for the former Finance Minister.

“I am pleased to inform you that the President of the Republic has appointed you as the Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Envoy for International Finance and Private Sector Investments,” stated.
