The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has called for the arrest of the Northern Regional Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA) over his failure to deposit over an amount of GH¢160,000 in Internally Generated Funds (IGF).

This is as a result of the Northern Regional Director of NSA to deposit the cash into the Consolidated Fund Transit account of the Authority.

Speaking at the Committee hearing, the Chairman of the Committee, James Klutse Avedzi expressed disgust over the inability of the Director to appear before the committee.

He subsequently directed the Minister for Youth and Sports to make sure that the Director and Accountant are arrested by the Police.

“We are instructing the police to pick up the regional director and accountant of the region without delay. You were invited to testify before Parliament, and you declined, despite being aware that you had misused over GH¢160,000, presuming that you would escape consequences,” he added.

The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif also assured the Committee that the directive will be carried out.
