Accra’s air quality seems to have worsened over the week as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has confirmed the quality of air is currently hazardous.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) Monday, February, 4 in a tweet revealed that air quality in Accra was very unhealthy as a result of dust concentration in the atmosphere.

But despite assurances in the tweet of good news midweek on the back of expectations, the dust level would reduce, subsequently improving the air quality, latest data from the EPA point otherwise.

Air Quality Index according to the EPA as at 10:00am this morning, February 8, was 314, higher that index of 246 recorded on February 4.

The notice adds a health alert, warning of emergency conditions of which the entire nation is likely to be affected.
