Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif, emphasized the importance of the 13th All African Games in Ghana, highlighting the dedication of the volunteers.

During the event which was held today, at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana, in Accra, Hon. Ussif officially launched the Volunteers Program for Accra 2023, and hinted on the relevance of the role of volunteers in hosting it. He also mentioned that they will serve as the primary contact for all Ghanaian visitors to participate in the event.

“Today is a special day for the youth of Africa, especially you volunteers, to make this a historic event,” he stated, adding that this is to sow a seed of unity and purpose among Africans and the world at large.

He further asserted that they are about to make history for posterity; and volunteers can proudly talk about their role they played when Ghana hosted it for the 1st time in the history of the games.”

“The success of this mega event hinges on you the volunteers, which is a relentless move to give your expertise, ideas, time and energy without expecting anything in return; this is where the sacrifices and solidarity begins,” he noted.

“It will not be easy leaving your homes and family to be here to serve, but your dedication, focus and will power will make this a milestone and this will show to a large extent the hospitality Ghana is noted for, based on this, I have the singular honour to declare Accra2023 duly launched and let us all go out there and be worthy ambassadors and make Ghana proud”, He added.

More than fifty games will be played in the Accra2023 in Accra, Borteyman, and Cape Coast.
