The Minority in Parliament has accused President Akufo-Addo of seeking to dominate other organs of state over his position on the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, 2024.

Secretary to the President Nana Asante Bediatuo in a letter to the clerk asked parliament to refrain from transmitting the bill to the Presidency until all pending legal matters are dealt with.

Addressing the media, immediate past Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu questioned the capacity in which the President’s secretary wrote to Parliament and not the President himself to the Speaker as has been the practice.

The Tamale South MP aside asking the clerk to disregard the letter further warned the President if he failed to attend to the bill.

He added that the minority would hold him in breach of the constitution if the stipulated timelines are missed starting from the day the clerk was at the Jubilee House.
