The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cleared all the nine applicants who picked up and filed nomination forms to contest the Ejisu Parliamentary primary slated for 13 April 2024.

The Director of Elections for the Party Evans Nimarko said the party decided to avoid division and confusion in the party thereby allowing all the nine to contest.

The party is therefore encouraging all the candidates in the elections to conduct clean and fair electoral campaigns.

The party on 2nd April 2024 opened nominations for interested applicants to pick forms to contest the party’s Ejisu Parliamentary primary after the demise of the MP for the constituency John Kuma on 7th March 2024.

After the close of nominations, nine people successfully picked and filed to contest in the Parliamentary primary for one to be elected as a parliamentary candidate to lead the party in the pending by-election expected to be conducted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

The candidates are Dr Evans Duah, Lecturer at Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED); Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, Former President of the Ghana Football Association, lawyer Kwabena Boateng, former Second Vice Chairman for Ejisu;

Lawyer Portia Acheampong Abronye, Wife of Bono Regional Chairman of NPP. Abena Pokua Amoah, the Ashanti regional NPP Women’s Campaign Manager, Helena Mensah, the Presiding Member of the Ejisu Municipal Assembly, Mr Clinsman Karikari Mensah, the former Assembly Member for Onwe. Maame Yaa Aboagye, Downstream Consultant, Petroleum industry, and Aaron Prince Duah, Former Assembly Member for Asienimpong.
