Ghanaian sprinter Joseph Paul Amoah, has revealed Ghana’s record holder, Benjamin Azamati and in-form Isaac Botsio will join Ghana’s relay team for the World Relay Championship in the Bahamas as the chase for a spot at the Paris Olympic Games continues.

Ghana’s 4×100 meter Relay team secured a second place finish in a time of 39.71 seconds at the PENN relay event in Philadelphia over the weekend.

In an interview with Benjamin Yamoah and Monica Bukari on The Game on Ghone TV, Joseph Paul Amoah expressed his confidence in Ghana qualifying for the Olympic games with the inclusion of Azamati and Botsio for the relays in Bahamas.

“I know the actual team that is going will have Benjamin Azamati back in the team as well as Isaac Botsio, who is one of the fastest in the world this season will also be in the team.”

“We’re looking at having a good team in Bahamas for the world relay, so I know for sure when we all come together, I think we will qualify for the Olympics,” he added.

The World Relays Championship is set to take place at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau on 4 to 5th May 2024.
 
This event is a crucial Olympic qualifying event for the world’s top-performing athletes from more than 40 countries.
