The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has confirmed the incumbent Member of Parliament for Yendi Constituency, Farouk Aliu Mahama, as its parliamentary candidate (PC) ahead of the 2024 General Election.

The parliamentary primary held in the Yendi Constituency was marred by serious disturbance and violence.

As a result of the chaotic nature of the election, some delegates in the Yendi Constituency requested the cancellation of the result for a fresh election.

However, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party thinks otherwise.

In a press release signed by the General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua disclosed that the party has passed several resolutions in respect of the party’s parliamentary primaries and cleared the current sitting MP for Yendi to lead the party as its Parliamentary candidate for the area.

“The National Executive Committee has confirmed Hon. Farouk Aliu Mahama as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency,” the General Secretary added.
