The Office of the President has explained that the removal of Dr. John Ofori Tenkorang from the position of Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) was based on a restructuring by the government.

According to the Presidency, the action is contrary to speculations that the former SSNIT boss was removed as a result of misconduct.

A statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin further indicated that the move is part of a restructuring of President Akufo-Addo’s administration.

“Indeed, Dr Ofori-Tenkorang’s exit from office is part of the ongoing restructuring of Government being undertaken by President Akufo-Addo.

“The President is satisfied with the performance of Dr. Ofori-Tenkorang as Director-General of SSNIT in the past seven years, as the institution, under his watch, witnessed some impressive transformation. The President thanks him for his services to the nation,” he added
