Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso and Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Dr. Stephen Amoah has been reassigned to the Finance Ministry as a new Deputy Minister

His reassignment which takes effect immediately according to President Akufo-Addo is to replace the former Deputy Minister, John Kumah who passed away on March 7th.

President Akufo-Addo has subsequently nominated MP for Achiase Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo as Deputy Minister Designate for the Trade’s and Industry Ministry to fill in the gap Stephen Amoah leaves at the Ministry.

Dr. Stephen Amoah is a Finance & Investment Consultant who holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Actuarial Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST) with the option of Finance and Investment is a Member of the African Parliamentary Union (APU).

He is also a Member of the Finance Committee in Parliament. Besides, Dr. Amoah is a member one of the Parliamentary Service Board Sub-Committees in charge of the unit responsible for Procurement and also member of the committee tasked to manage the selection of Auditing Entity that will have the mandate to audit the Auditor General.

Dr. Amoah is also member of the Ghana Commercial Bank Board of Directors.

He has served in the past as Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre, MASLOC at the Office of President and a former Deputy National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Coordinator

Dr. Amoah hold a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Financial Management from the University Derby in the United Kingdom, BSc. in Computer Science from KNUST and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from MIT in the US.
