A level 300 student at the school of medical sciences of the University of Cape, Abraham Norman Nortey, has made headlines for his commendable act of philanthropic gesture.

Norman Abraham who studies Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery has bought university application forms totaling GH¢ GHC4,000 for 16 applicants to assist them to enter a university of their choice.

Abraham, as part of the gesture, has gone even further, paying academic fees for 10 students in the 2023/2024 academic year to the tune of GHC36,000.

This philanthropic effort includes full payments for some and partial payments for others, easing their financial burdens Norman’s benevolent actions extend beyond academics, with various projects in 2023 addressing health, education, and community needs. His impactful initiatives continue to make a positive difference in the lives of many using his NGO, Visionary Norman Foundation.

He told Starrfm.com.gh that, “I was once in a position where I struggled to pay for my education and relied on the generosity of others to start my journey towards a brighter future.”

“Growing up in a humble background, I understand the challenges faced by those who aspire to pursue higher education but lack the financial means to do so. It was through the support of kind-hearted individuals that I was able to begin my academic journey, and today, I am in a position to pay it forward,” he added.

He indicated further that the move is his own way of expressing gratitude.

“It’s my way of expressing gratitude for the opportunities I’ve been afforded and ensuring that others have the chance to realize their dreams, just as I did.”
