In a recent interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chart,
Renowned Ghanaian record producer Hammer expressed his admiration for American rapper and producer Kanye West.
Hammer, celebrated for his contributions to the Ghanaian music industry, highlighted West’s commitment to acknowledging the contributions of music producers.
“I like Kanye West because he is the only one in the world who credits producers properly,” Hammer stated during an interview on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Thursday.
His remarks underscore the importance of recognizing the often behind-the-scenes work of producers who play a crucial role in shaping the sound and success of music tracks.
Kanye West has long been known for his meticulous attention to detail and his collaborative approach in the studio, often bringing in a diverse array of producers and giving them due recognition in his album credits. This practice stands out in an industry where producers’ contributions can sometimes be overlooked.
Hammer’s comments reflect a broader conversation in the music industry about the need for fair acknowledgment and compensation for producers. By praising West, Hammer hopes to inspire more artists to follow suit and give credit where it is due.
Kanye West first gained recognition as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s, where he produced hit singles for artists like Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. His production style, characterized by sped-up soul samples and orchestral arrangements, became highly sought after. In 2004, West released his debut album, “The College Dropout,” which received critical acclaim and commercial success, establishing him as a leading figure in hip-hop.
