The Member of Parliament for Tolon, Habib Iddrisu has emphasized President Akufo-Addo’s significant achievements and compared them to the tenure of former President John Mahama.

He particularly highlighted the Free Senior High School initiative as a major achievement, which has benefited students in various educational institutions, including teacher training colleges and technical universities.

“Despite challenging times, the Free Senior High School program has been successfully implemented, making education more accessible and showcasing the President’s dedication to the future of our youth,” the lawmaker disclosed on State of Affairs on GHOne TV with Lantam Papanko on Monday.

The MP also mentioned other infrastructure developments under President Akufo-Addo, questioning the impact of former President Mahama, “Can you recall any significant contributions from former President Mahama?”.

Regarding the Agenda 111 initiative, he remarked, “There is progress in the Northern Region. Some hospitals have been roofed, and others are being plastered. It is essential to start somewhere, and we are witnessing tangible developments.”

On the issue of party support for the Bawumia-NAPO ticket, the MP assured that the majority of MPs backed the decision. “Every MP in the party supports the flagbearer. While there may be differing opinions, the National Council’s decision is clear. We are united in our support.”

The MP further stated the democratic nature of elections, acknowledging that not everyone may support a candidate, but it does not undermine their legitimacy.

“In my own constituency, thousands voted against me, but that did not stop me from being an MP. Similarly, our party’s decision is firm, and forward we move with confidence.”
