In an exclusive interview with Joy Business News, the 2023 VGMA (Now TGMA) Artiste of The Year opened up about how his mother’s influence has shaped his approach to fashion and personal style.

Black Sherif, whose real name is Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, credited his mother’s keen eye for detail and creativity for his bold and eclectic wardrobe choices.

According to the crooner,  his mother was one of the top five seamstresses in his hometown, Konongo, and has significantly influenced his style. He further mentioned that his mother’s work introduced him to the fashion world at a young age.

Black Sherif noted that his mum often created fashionable outfits for him and even added unique styles to his school uniforms.

These early experiences sparked his interest in fashion and gave him the confidence to experiment with his look.  His distinctive fashion choices often push the boundaries of conventional style and have become a significant part of his identity as an artist.

Blacko recently debuted an outfit for his “Kilos Milos” music video, which got many Ghanaians talking. The outfit left many social media users stunned.
