In a strong rebuttal to circulating rumours, Nollywood star Dakore Egbuson-Akande has categorically denied allegations of an affair with Nigerian Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The allegations, initially propagated by the well-known Nigerian blogger Gistlover, suggested that the actress, along with several other women, was romantically involved with the politician.
Addressing the claims, Dakore described the rumours as a “wicked lie from the pit of hell” and emphasized that her hard-earned reputation should not be used for clickbait. She expressed deep disappointment and shock at the accusations spreading on social media and made it clear that she has never met the Senate President.
“I want to categorically state that I have never in my life met the Senate President. I have not had any course to see him or be in the same room, not to talk of his side chick,” the actress declared in a video posted on her Instagram page.
Dakore announced her intention to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading the falsehoods, asserting, “I am not going to be quiet about it.”
She also reminded her fans and accusers of her status as a happily married woman with two children, stressing that the speculations were aimed solely at tarnishing her hard-earned reputation. To further challenge the baseless accusations, Dakore offered a reward of 5 million naira to anyone who could provide evidence of her alleged affair with the politician.
The actress’s firm denial and proactive stance have garnered widespread support from her fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry, who have rallied behind her in defense of her character and integrity.
