15-year-old Samuella Osae who published her first book at the age of eight, has yet again released her second published book ‘Leticia the Chaste Girl’.

The young talented writer who just completed the Martyrs of Uganda R/C Junior High School in Kumasi surprised the world with her first book “The Stranger’s Toffees’, a novel she wrote while in primary school.

‘A Stranger’s toffees’ was written after Samuella witnessed a near-kidnapping incident of her little sister at her father’s workplace.

“I wrote my first book when I was in class four and I was inspired by a near kidnapping incident. I thought kidnapping was not real and far away but when I witnessed that event, I realized it could happen to anyone so I wanted children to be aware of it and be alert,” Samuella recalled.

Explaining her inspiration for writing, she disclosed that her novels are inspired by incidents she has personally witnessed.

Her second book ‘Leticia the Chaste Girl’ followed a similar pattern drawing inspiration from the real-life story of an intelligent lady who lost her sponsored education in the city, dropped out of school, and was returned to the village after getting pregnant.

“I was surprised when I saw my mates in romantic relationships at my age. Finding out about that brilliant lady getting pregnant which resulted in her leaving school and moving back to the village; I realized I could use that experience to write my second book “Samuella explained.

The book tells the story of the main character Leticia, a perfect, intelligent, well-mannered girl whose life takes a tragic turn after getting influenced by peers to fall into an amorous relationship with a hired boyfriend.

Her woes

Mother of the stated author, Mrs. Rebecca Osae recounted how her daughter developed a love for books at a very tender age.

“Right from nursery school till date you will always find her writing and reading during her leisure hours.”

“Her father named her Professor 1 at the age of one year. Since she started schooling, you will never find my daughter without a book writing “Mrs. Osae stated.

The headmaster of Martyrs of Uganda RC JHS, Mr. Anthony Akansisi entreated the public to help support this young talented lady to improve herself and achieve her goals.

He described the book which addresses a growing societal concern of immorality and sexual indulgence among the youth, as timely.

“I was marveled when I saw such a young girl who has written a book so I will entreat schools, churches, everyone to patronize the book and then read to learn something from it ” Mr. Akansisi pleaded.

Samuella’s hope is that the book which will be launched at the Martyrs Of Uganda JHS on Friday 23rd July 2024 reaches every child with her simple message about the price of chastity.

The book has already received commendable reviews and Samuella looks forward to support to propagate its content in all schools.
