Ghanaian actor John Peasah, widely recognized for his role as Drogba in the popular television series “YOLO”, has shared a sobering update on his ongoing health struggles. Peasah, who has been battling a demyelinating illness for more than two years, revealed that his condition has recently worsened.

In a video posted on his Instagram page, Peasah was seen wearing an oxygen mask, signaling the severity of his current state. He disclosed that he is now dealing with sleep apnea, a condition that has further complicated his health. As a result, his doctors have provided him with additional oxygen to aid his breathing.

Sleep apnea is a disorder that disrupts breathing during sleep, leading to multiple short periods of breathlessness throughout the night. This condition can cause poor sleep quality, fatigue, and a host of other health problems. For Peasah, this new development presents yet another hurdle in his ongoing battle with illness.

Demyelinating diseases damage the protective layer around nerve fibers in the brain, optic nerves, and spinal cord, disrupting the normal transmission of signals through the nerves and leading to various neurological issues. Peasah’s condition has resulted in serious health problems, requiring expensive and continuous medical care.

The actor’s recent announcement has garnered widespread attention, with numerous celebrities and fans expressing their support and concern. Despite receiving ongoing treatment, Peasah is now seeking financial assistance to manage the growing costs of his care.

In his message to the public, Peasah shared, “I will be using this for now,” referencing the oxygen mask that has become a necessary part of his daily life as he continues his fight against these debilitating conditions.

As Peasah continues to face these health challenges, the outpouring of support from his community and beyond remains crucial.
